Memorial Day is so much more than just a holiday for folks to kick their feet up and relax. There are freedoms that we are blessed with that were paid with a price. And this price just so happened to be death. Many men and women have put their lives on the line so that we could have the freedoms that we are afforded today.

It’s easy to see Memorial Day as just another holiday, but take in consideration what was at stake. In John 15:13, Christ said, “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” That’s what Christ did so that those who believe in Him could have eternal life.

So, while you’re having fun today with cookouts, parties & family gatherings, take a moment to pay respect to those who have given their lives. And say a prayer for affected families that have to live on without their loved ones.
