There is freedom in Jesus Christ. Freedom from the box the world tries to put you in and even the one you unintentionally put yourself in. It’s easy to claim that accepting Jesus into your life and following Him each day limits your freedom from the outside looking in, but you’ll find this to be further from the truth once you decide to live for Christ.
The world tells you that in order to make it, you have to push yourself until you can push no more.
Jesus says, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, For they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, For they shall inherit the earth.” – Matthew 5:3-5 NKJV
Just these few verses illustrate that Jesus isn’t concerned about status. In fact, many of the people He chose to be a part of His ministry were what the world would deem as unsuccessful. But Jesus didn’t see it that way, and He doesn’t see us that way. No matter where you are in life, Jesus welcomes you in with open arms.
The world tells you to worry about what will happen in every facet of your life.
Jesus says, “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” – Matthew 6:34 NKJV
Jesus doesn’t want you to be troubled by life. He has the blueprint, which is why He urges us to follow His direction. As we stick by His side and trust where He is taking us, we will be much better off than navigating life on our own.
Most importantly, the world is unsure if life on earth is all that there is.
Jesus says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” – John 3:16-17 NKJV
Jesus paid the ultimate price – death – so that we could have eternal life. John 15:13 NKJV says, “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
And that’s exactly what Jesus did. All we have to do now is accept the savior of the whole world into our lives. If you ask me, that’s a pretty sweet deal. God is so awesome because He loves us without condition. He showed us just how far and wide His love is by sending His blameless, perfect son to die for the sins of a broken people.
If you are looking for a true hero, look no further than Jesus Christ.
