You have a voice. However insignificant or small it might seem. Whether you are the CEO of a Fortune 500 company or an orphan trying to find your place in the world. Whether you are black, white, blue or grey. Whether you are well-off or just scraping by. Your voice is important and needs to be heard.
Let go of your ego — the one that tells you that they do not need your vote. The one that tells you that the government is corrupt and unfavorable so why bother. As an African American woman, I understand that these rights weren’t always there for people like me. So many people had to fight in order for me to have the rights that I have now.
As a Christian, I understand the greatest sacrifice that was made in order for me to have the opportunity to have eternal life. It is not without thought or pondering. Though, in this broken in corrupt world, we are nowhere near where we need to be. Groaning, complaining and meandering about life’s unfortunate moments doesn’t change anything.
Change can only come if we are willing to take action, and it starts with you. I will be at the voting polls because I understand that while my voice might seem small, it does have power, and so do you!
