I was scrolling through social media when I found an interview from Oprah. In this interview, she said that everyone has something that they’re passionate about, but only some have the drive and determination to execute that passion.
This really stuck with me because I finished my novel, and now I’m in the process of getting my book published. I could’ve just as easily finished my book and decided to stop there, but I have a drive and a determination to follow this thing through.
You can’t look at everyone else around you and wonder why you aren’t doing as well as they are if you haven’t put in the work. You have to take that dream that you have and map out ways in which you can achieve it.
It’s so easy to look at successful people and think that maybe they just got lucky or they were exposed to more opportunities than you, but the fact of the matter is that you don’t just wake up and become successful. You have to work hard and never stop fighting for your dreams.
Passion is great, and it’s amazing that you have passion because that means that there is something in this world that gives your life meaning.
But passion is only the first step.
