I did it!
I ended National Novel Writing Month with 50,005 words!

Oftentimes, being a writer comes with no accolades or rewards. That’s not why I do what I do, but I will admit it can get discouraging when everything I’m striving for is in the dark.
This entire month, I was able to connect with writers striving for the same goal as me: to work on their novel.
Some went the traditional route in aiming to write 50,000 words starting Nov 1st. Others, like me, were Nano Rebels and continued existing projects or even did edits for a completed project. Whatever the case, it was a community effort. Once I reached my goal of getting my existing novel to 50,000, I felt the love of the community.
So, what’s next?
Well, the book needs about 15,000 words before it’s complete, so my goal is to get it done before the new year. I think that’s very attainable, so now I’m back to writing. I’m just doing it at a slower pace since my goal for December is half as big as November. But there’s no pressure. If I do it, that’s great. If not, I’d be happy to complete the novel by the end of January.
My hope for any other aspiring writers out there is you stay the course, and don’t be afraid to connect with other writers.
Wishing you all the best!
