Tried and True Recipe #1: Smoothie Bowl

If you know me well enough, you know that I am constantly trying different recipes. I like to spice it up and not eat the same thing all the time. When I find a recipe that is new and delicious, I get excited. So, I thought I would share some of them with you.

I am sure you have heard of a smoothie or acai bowl, as they are a trendy thing to eat. When I first came across it, I thought I would give it a try, and now it is a go-to breakfast, post-workout and snack idea for me. It is as simple as throwing whatever you desire into a blender.

I go with chia seeds — they are packed with fiber, protein and omega-3 fatty acids; add a little bit of water to them and they help thicken up the smoothie bowl — bananas (frozen or finished productroom temp), frozen berry mix and grape juice — (Tip: make the smoothie bowl slightly thicker than a normal smoothie by adding less grape juice) you could opt for almond milk or water if you want this to have less sugar, and you could even add leafy greens like kale or spinach. Top with your topping of choice — I went with strawberries and granola — and you’re done!
