The holiday season is here, and it is, by far, one of my favorite times of the year. With the holidays; however, we can feel the need to get a little bit more spendy than initially intended. Today I’m going to show you a few DIY home decor ideas that won’t break the bank.
Mini Christmas Trees
Believe it or not, I got every single one of the below items from the dollar store. I won’t bore you with how to decorate a tree. There’s no rhyme or reason to it. I used tinsel, a few different types of ornaments (variety is key), and ornament hooks. The ornaments came with strings to hang them with, but I didn’t realize that until I got them home. Still, I prefer the hooks, so I’m glad I bought them.I’m really happy with how they turned out. I put one on my dresser (as shown above) and one closer to my bed.
Decorative Vase
Next up, we have a decorative vase. I wanted to do something a little bit different, so I thought, “Why not put ornaments in a vase?” I added a variety of medium and small ones. I found this festive foliage that I thought would pair well with it. It has pine cones and cranberries, which is perfect for the holiday season.
I ended up using the joy ornaments for a couple of handles on my TV stand, and that’s it for my room. I already had twinkle lights sprawled across my dresser and over my bed, so everything tied together quite nicely.
I had a lot of extra ornaments left, so I decided to replace what was already in the centerpiece below with the ornaments.
Decorating for the holidays doesn’t have to leave a huge hole in your wallet. If you try out any of these ideas, I would love to know about it in the comments.
Until next time.
