The main ingredients for this recipe are sausage, peppers and rice. I normally use Trader Joe’s 3-minute brown rice and frozen peppers to reduce the cooking time, but I wasn’t able to get that when I made this. However, this recipe is pretty much the same regardless of the type of rice and peppers you buy. You could also switch out the turkey sausage for a different kind of sausage, but I prefer turkey sausage in this.
If you’re using Boil-in-Bag rice, go ahead and get it cooking. Follow whatever the instructions tell you.
After that, cut up the sausage into 1/2-inch rounds, pour non-stick cooking spray or olive oil in a skillet and brown both sides on medium-high heat. Then, put the sausage back on the cutting board and cut the 1/2-inch sausage rounds in half.
Next, either cut your fresh peppers into bite size pieces and throw them into the pan or just throw a bag of frozen peppers into the pan. Cook them until they are soft.
Throw the sausage back into the pan, add the rice and mix in the seasonings (seasoned salt, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and chicken seasoning). Add a little extra oil if you need to and you have a super easy, delicious recipe that will be done and on the table in less than twenty minutes.
Ingredients:
- Two packs of turkey sausage
- Two peppers or a frozen pack of peppers
- Two bags of Boil-in-Bag rice or two bags of Trader Joe’s 3-minute rice
- 2 tbsp seasoned salt

Disclaimer: I doubled this recipe so it would last throughout the week. Feel free to cut it in half.
