Free Fall DIY

Once I saw this Michaels DIY, I knew I had to create it. Then, I looked at the endless supplies it required and thought, “I can do this for way less!” At first, my plan was to recreate it by purchasing inexpensive Dollar Tree items, but then, I thought, “Maybe this can free. Maybe I can use items I already have lying around to make something similar.”

Don’t let the title of this blog post fool you. I had to buy the materials at some point in time. What makes it free now is I recycled old materials to make something new. With a world so keen on consumerism, it felt nice.

Let’s get started!

I don’t know about you, but I have a storage bin strictly for décor. Most of it is Christmas stuff, but I’ve collected a few fall items over the years.

For this project, I used a flowers & gardens bin, a fall leaves garland, additional autumn leaves and pumpkin clips. I got all of the aforementioned supplies from Dollar Tree. The fake candle lights were gifted to me, which I believe were purchased on Amazon.

I placed two smaller (of three) fake lights in the bin and wrapped garland around them, readjusting as needed. I filled in the gaps with individual leaves and arranged one pumpkin clip inside.

And that’s it. I hope you love how it turned out just as much as I did.
